No don’t be mistaken when I drew this Geisha I didn’t try to make it provocative! Her exquisite seduction is not a game, but comes exclusively from her irresistible charm!
I wanted it to be very delicate, when after painting it in watercolor, on 30 x 40 cm glossy paper, I completed the details with Posca watercolor markers.

Non ne vous méprenez pas quand j’ai dessiné cette Geisha je n’ai pas essayé de la rendre provocante ! Sa séduction exquise n’est pas un jeu, mais provient exclusivement de son charme irrésistible !
Je voulais qu’il soit très délicat, quand après l’avoir peint à l’aquarelle, sur papier glacé 30 x 40 cm, j’ai complété les détails avec les feutres aquarelle Posca.

The first time I did this watercolor in 2015 was on paper. I have sold it!
A few months ago the person asked me to restore it because the glass had broken and had damaged the paint.
He wanted me to add decorative elements.
And here is the latest 2023 version of the restored watercolor, mounted on canvas 33 x 41cm and decorated.

This portrait was painted in Sennelier watercolor with pure pigments on Canson watercolor paper 57x77cm 640g grain tea towel.
After I finished it, I added some gilding and Japanese stripes in well-defined places to add color. Then I mounted everything while continuing the background in acrylic and gilding, on a cotton canvas measuring 81x100cm.

“FLAMBOYANT WITH A FAN”

When I started this face it was shortly after my return from Japan, on a 60 x 80 cm watercolor sheet, Torchon grain 640g.
I first worked with watercolor and left it in a corner of my studio. Then I touched it up with soft pastel on the face and Ink. Finally some time later I redid acrylic flowers on her headdress and painted the fan with a purple watercolor color.
Lately I finally decided to finish it!
Not satisfied with the work, I mounted it on an 80 x 100 cm canvas, and continued the fan while adding silver and floral adornments around the work, to give it a dazzling appearance ❣️
Oops, it took me about 6 years to finish this painting 🫣🫢 🎎 I promise I won't touch it anymore❣️

Before being hacked I had made several portraits including this one. These had the characteristic of starting from the same portrait in order to differentiate it by representing an emotion, a quality or others.
So I had made several sketches including this one on 24 x 32 cm, 330g paper.
As usual, I need to retouch some of my works until I reach the chosen goal! … But even if it is not always easy, you have to know when to stop …
So this is one of them! Lately I have mounted it on a 30 x 40 cm canvas and continued with Watercolor and Silk Ink while trying to respect its both elegant and severe stature to give it the final touches❗️
Salvator Dali said that "Painting was the visible face of the iceberg of his thought"...
Maybe it's true after all ⁉️

Avant d'être piratée j'avais réalisé plusieurs portraits dont celui-ci. Ceux-ci avaient la particularité de partir d'un même portrait afin de le différencier en représentant une émotion, une qualité ou autres.
J'avais donc réalisé plusieurs croquis dont celui-ci sur papier 24 x 32 cm, 330g.
Comme d'habitude, j'ai besoin de retoucher certaines de mes œuvres jusqu'à atteindre l'objectif choisi ! … Mais même si ce n’est pas toujours facile, il faut savoir s’arrêter…
C'est donc l'un d'entre eux ! Dernièrement je l'ai monté sur une toile de 30 x 40 cm et j'ai continué à l'Aquarelle et à l'Encre de Soie en essayant de respecter sa stature à la fois élégante et sévère pour lui apporter la touche finale❗️
Salvator Dali disait que "La peinture était la face visible de l'iceberg de sa pensée"...
C'est peut-être vrai après tout ⁉️

I first painted this portrait on a large watercolor sheet @canson 640g (82x105cm), in ink and watercolor by placing it on a canvas (89x116cm). So I was able to continue the subject using acrylic in the same tones. Finally I finished this portrait with gilding before pasting it on the canvas.

For this watercolor I used mainly Ink and Watercolor @sennelier on watercolor paper 46 x 62 cm grain 300g. Once finished, I glued (mounted) the painting on a 50 x 70 cm canvas on which, as usual, I continued painting with the same materials.
